In The Beginning – Hope

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” Genesis 3:15 NIV

In the beginning when man first sinned, God was right there with this promise, that He would send us a savior. When man, who had it all, fell to temptation, God showed His promises true. He told him that if he ate from the tree in the center of the garden, he would surely die, and that held true for Adam and Eve and all of us. But God also promised that the offspring of Eve, referring to Jesus, would crush Satan. Throughout the bible God makes promises and keeps them. What do we call that? Hope!

It is written that Adam walked with God on the cool mornings in the garden. That’s really God’s desire, for each one of us to walk with Him.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24 NIV

All of us can enjoy the same fellowship with God that Adam enjoyed in the garden when we walk with Him. Every one of us sin and fall short, but through His promise in the beginning, He brought us hope. And hope has a name – Jesus!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning….The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. John 1:1-2, 14 NIV

God’s word, His son, put on flesh and dwelt among us!

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 NLT

There is hope for us all!

While hanging on a cross right next to our Lord Christ Jesus, the thief simply said,  “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” Jesus promised he would be with Him in paradise that same day!  What hope! Another promise from our Lord which established the thief’s place in eternity!

That alone provides hope for us all, as did His promise the first time we fell. Hope has a name – Jesus!
