The Spirit of God came on Azariah son of Oded. He went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. 2 Chronicles 15:1-2 NIV

Asa knew, from experience, God was with him. He had walked with the Lord, and so far in his reign, he had relied completely on God. As a result, God had given him military success, even when facing insurmountable odds.

If you seek him, he will be found by you.” That’s still true today! God is not hiding. Anyone who has a heart to know Him, and takes the time to seek Him, will find Him to be an amazing, personal and intimate Father. But the flip side is also true, “If you forsake him, he will forsake you.”  Even though God created us and loves us, we must seek Him. If we neglect to do so, we will not enjoy the benefits of knowing Him.

For a long time Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach and without the law. But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them. 2 Chronicles 15:3-4 NIV

Perhaps you haven’t been raised in the church. Maybe the whole idea of Christianity is new to you. Or maybe you were raised in the faith but turned away from it at some point and are now wondering if it’s too late. Will God still be there for you? The answer is emphatically, yes! If you turn to Him in your distress, He will draw you back into His presence and renew a right relationship with you! Just call out to Him. Focus your full attention on Him and ask Him to reveal Himself to you personally.
