Let It Rain

Let my teaching fall on you like rain; let my speech settle like dew. Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants. Deuteronomy 32:2 NIV

The simple truth is this: God’s word is powerful! The Bible is not just a book written by men, yes, they penned the words, but God inspired their thoughts because He wanted us to have a record of truth that could radically change our lives. How different would we be if we immersed ourselves in the word of God, and allowed it to soak us, like rain on a stormy day?

The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. Isaiah 55:10-12a NLT

Just like rain produces bread for the hungry, God’s word always satisfies! If you want joy and peace in your life, spend more time digging into the Bible. Don’t just assume the word you hear in church on Sunday is enough. That’s like watching a rain storm out the window and wondering why you aren’t getting wet! You need to personally seek God by reading His word. When you take the time to study it on your own, you’ll find that God will personally teach you and give you insight! You’ll see things you’ve never seen before and the relevance of it’s truth to your life will become more and more evident. God will begin bringing it to your mind throughout the day and showing you how it applies in the situations you encounter on a daily basis!
