The Simplicity of Evangelism

The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. John 1:41-42 NIV

Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. John 1:45-46 NIV

There’s no reason to hesitate sharing your faith with others, simply share with your loved ones, what you love about Jesus!  Andrew was excited to find the Messiah so he wanted to tell his brother Simon! What have you found in Jesus that would benefit your friends and family?

Philip was excited too so he invited Nathanael to come see! If you’re excited about what you’ve found in Christ, it’s only natural to tell those closest to you. That’s evangelism in it’s truest form.

When the Samaritan women encountered Jesus at the well, she hurried back in to town and told everyone about Him.

Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days.  And because of his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.” John 4:39-42 NIV

Herein lies the goal of evangelism: You tell others what you have found in Jesus, they check Him out for themselves, and they find that He is the Savior of the world!

It really is that simple!
