His Heart Went Out To Her

As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her.  When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!”  The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. Luke 7:12-15 NIV

God feels the pain of human suffering. He walked this earth and experienced life as a man, life as we know it. He’s not far removed or unable to understand our pain. He can relate to all of it, and when we suffer, He suffers right along with us!

Isaiah put it this way:

In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old. Isaiah 63:9 NIV

Whatever you’re going through today, you can be sure that Jesus understands and is willing to help.
