The Light Breaks Through

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. Psalms 19:1-6 NIV

There’s nothing in this world quite as inspiring as the glory of a sunrise. Man receives a firsthand look at the handiwork of God, His beauty on display, the sky His canvas, as light breaks through darkness and transforms night into day. Hope is renewed as, once again, we are given a fresh start, a brand new day where new opportunities and new adventures await us.

The Psalmist is right, the heavens declare the glory of God. They speak volumes about our amazing Creator without uttering a sound. Without speaking a word, their voice is heard throughout all the earth, encouraging man to keep moving forward, to never give up, to never stop living. Though the night can be long, we look up and wait expectantly for the light of God to break through on the horizon. And as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course, God rises up, renews our hope and comforts us in the warmth of His presence.

As the Son turns our darkness into light, bringing us new hope, we become His canvas. Our transformed lives display the amazing power of God to comfort, to heal and restore. We are His handiwork, the display of His splendor and the world gets an inside look at the love and mercy of God. As we bask in the warmth of His love and forgiveness, our lives speak volumes to a lost and hurting world without uttering a sound or speaking a word.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:15 NIV
