Hold On To What You Know About God – Job Part 5

“Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me? Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again? Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese, clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews? You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.” ‭‭Job‬ ‭10:8-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I love Job’s appeal! It makes me believe that his righteousness stemmed from a strong relationship with his Creator! When life is difficult and you search for answers, hold on to what you know to be true about God. Job had no doubt that God made him, not just started the process of human reproduction, but personally fashioned him with great care. “Your hands shaped me,” Job declared! “You molded me,” “knit me together,” “gave me life and showed me kindness.” You “watched over my spirit.” Job was so in tune with God’s intimacy and love for him that he knew God would never turn and destroy him! I’m sure this brought him great comfort and reassurance.

Do you realize that God personally designed and fashioned you too? You are who you are for a reason. You may not understand why, but you can be sure He makes no mistakes! You were created for a wonderful purpose, to know Him intimately and to serve Him with all your heart. He designed you and He loves you, exactly as you are!

If someone dies, will they live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait for my renewal to come. You will call and I will answer you; you will long for the creature your hands have made. Surely then you will count my steps but not keep track of my sin. My offenses will be sealed up in a bag; you will cover over my sin. Job 14:14-17 NIV

Though Job had lost everything and was enduring relentless pain, he simply would not give up hope. He was confident that God would intervene! He believed with all his heart that God had not abandoned him. You will call and I will answer you! Job’s faith was strong! He was absolutely sure that God would long for him, so much so, that He would cover over his sin and not take note of his offenses! Can you image God longing to be close to you? Let that sink in! God desires you that much! He will never abandoned you!

Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him. Job 13:15a NIV
