About

The purpose of this site is simple. It’s a place where you can come to read a verse or a passage from the Bible and consider it’s relevance to your life. The author of this site claims no deep theological knowledge, just passion for the word of God and complete confidence in it’s relevance to everyday living. This is not a site designed to offer in-depth Bible study. Although, engaging in such study is highly recommended, posts on this site will be simpler in nature, usually focusing on just one or two thoughts gleaned from the passage presented.

All posts are based on the assumption that the Bible is the word of God and acknowledges 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”  As a soldier takes a weapon into battle, so it is to our advantage to take hold of the “Sword of the Spirit” every day to live victoriously. Reading the Bible and contemplating it’s truth need not be intimidating.  If you avoid reading the Bible because you’re “just too busy”, you may find this site to be a helpful tool.  Posts are written to be short enough to be read in just a few minutes, but thought about throughout the day.   Hebrews 4:12 tell us, “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” The more you read it, the more it will impact your life and the better understanding you’ll have of the God who wrote it.

This site is not intended to be the only time you spend focusing on the word of God during the day, but rather a supplement to a more comprehensive reading plan.  All readers are encouraged to develop a daily habit of “gripping the sword.”  If you’re not sure what to read and need help getting started both Youversion.com and Biblegateway.com offer reading plans.
