But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip. Acts 2:24 NLT
There is no way death could keep the Creator of all life in its grip! This is fantastic news, not just for those who were mourning the death of Christ when it happened but for you and I as well! Why? Because the one who loved us enough to die for us, now lives to represent us before the Father for all time! God could have accepted the sacrifice of Jesus for the sins of the world committed up until the time He went to the cross, but what about those of us who were born after He laid down His life? If He had not risen from the dead, how would His death have covered our sin?
But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever. Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf. He is the kind of high priest we need because he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven. Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins. The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But after the law was given, God appointed his Son with an oath, and his Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever. Hebrews 7:24-28 NLT
Think about it, the One who has been given the highest place of honor in heaven, who has that honor now and will forever have it, intercedes with God on your behalf. Once you align yourself with Jesus, surrender your life to Him and ask Him to be your Lord, He becomes your representative, your advocate with the Father! There’s no way you can be condemned if He is pleading your case! Case closed, you win!!!
And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous 1 John 2:1b
