Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights. Habakkuk 3:17-19 NLT
Habakkuk had come to realize that all he really needed was God. That’s a valuable lesson for all of us! Even though______. You can fill in the blank with anything relevant to your current circumstances and God will still be all you need. God is well able to give you strength and joy regardless of your circumstances.
If you’re standing at the peak of a difficult situation, losing your balance, and afraid you’ll fall if you take a step in any direction, be encouraged by the words of Habakkuk; God can make you as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights! The Sovereign Lord is your strength! Do you really think your situation is too difficult for God to bring you through? Then why let it steal your joy? Determine today that you will trust God and rely on His strength and His salvation. Let your mindset be the same as Habakkuk’s: Even though______, I will rejoice in the Lord!
I’ve always loved this verse in Habakkuk…I even wrote a song based on it.
