Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:7-9 NIV
Most people tend to view the idea that we reap what we sow in a negative light. And while it’s true we reap negative consequences from bad choices, its equally true that we reap blessings from good choices. Paul encourages us to not become weary in doing good. Let’s be honest, it’s one thing to have good intentions, but it’s not enough to just start down the right path, we need to follow all the way through till the end. It’s not easy to keep our hand to the plow and over time our resolve can start eroding. But here’s the good news, those who keep at it, will “reap a harvest.” It may take a while, but you will see the benefit of doing the right things if you just stick with it!
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 ESV
Have you been battling, struggling through life, trying to gain the victory? Be steadfast, and let nothing move you from the right path! Keep working at it, in the strength of the Lord, and He will give you the victory!
Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.” Hosea 6:3 ESV
Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you. Hosea 10:12 ESV
Keep sowing the right things into your life! Keep reading His word, keep seeking Him in prayer, keep spending time in fellowship with other believers, keep putting others above yourself. keep serving, keep sacrificing for others, keep avoiding those things that you know drag you into sin, keep developing your relationship with God and I guarantee that you will like what grows in your life!
My friends, I don’t feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead. I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done. All of us who are mature should think in this same way. And if any of you think differently, God will make it clear to you. But we must keep going in the direction that we are now headed. Philippians 3:13-16 CEV
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up!
