How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! Psalm 139:17-18 NLT
Do you ever wonder how often God thinks about you? He thinks about you all the time! Next time you are on the beach, try to count the grains of sand. No way, right! It would take you hours just to count the grains of sand in one small cup; there’s no way you could count all the grains of sand! That’s the example God uses to show us how often His thoughts are focused specifically on each one of us!
O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! Psalm 139:1-6 NLT
Think about the level of thought it takes to examine something, so well that you know everything about it. It’s not that we just cross God’s mind. He is totally focused on every detail of our lives.
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you. Psalm 139:7-12 NLT
Nothing takes you off His mind. No matter where you go, or what you do, God is thinking about you. He is always present as an advocate, to guide you and support you. Even when we walk in darkness, God is there. He sees the way back into the light and when we lose our way, He is there to lead us back.
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Psalm 139:13-16 NLT
God has a history with you. In fact, He has been with you, thinking about you from the very beginning. He thought about you, then designed you and brought you forth from your mother’s womb. He gave you life. He knows exactly how many days you will walk this earth before closing your eyes for the final time and entering into eternity. He has never stopped thinking about you. You have always been and will always be on His mind! Why? Because He loves you and has an amazing plan for you every day He gives you life! Do you want to know what that plan is? Just ask Him. He’ll be glad to show you!
