You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20 NIV
Whatever Satan is throwing your way today, take heart, though he intends to destroy you, God can turn it around and use it for your good and the good of your family. Sometimes life is so painful, this is hard to believe, but Joseph’s words inspire us to keep this perspective. Joseph faced tremendous hurtles in his life. He was sold into slavery, betrayed by those closest to him, falsely accused, and punished unjustly! Yet, it appears, he never doubted the love of God or lost trust in God’s plan for his life! Even when circumstances showed him no hope of freedom or reconciliation with his family, he kept doing the right thing and trusting God to work it all out. In the end, God surpassed all that Joseph could have ever hoped for! Joseph teaches us to never give up, and trust God through every heartache.
It is good for me that I was afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes. Psalm 119:71 NASB
There are lessons we can learn and victories to be won through adversity that we’d never learn in any other circumstance. The key is to draw closer to God when your heart is breaking instead of turning away from Him. When life is hard, cry out to God and let Him be your strength and restore your joy.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NASB
