Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. Deuteronomy 32:2 NIV
As plants need water to survive, so we too need the word of God. When we go too long without it, we become spiritually dry and thirsty. We remove ourselves from the life-giving source that nourishes our well being and we become weak. As a dried up plant is one that easily breaks, so we too are in danger of drying up and dying.
The word of the Lord through Moses is this, “Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew.” In other words, immerse yourself in the life-giving word of God! Drench yourself in it! Soak it in abundantly! Are you tired and weary? Let the word of God refresh your soul and bring you back to life!
The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. Psalm 19:7a NIV
