Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” James 4:14b NLT
I was walking along the boardwalk early yesterday morning, thru fog so thick, I couldn’t see more than 35 yards in front of me As the fog began to lift, God quickened my heart and brought a few thoughts to mind.
The first is the reality presented in James 4:14 . In the overall picture, our lives are but a vapor that quickly vanishes like the morning fog. With that understanding, I’m challenged to ask myself the following questions. Am I making the most of every day? Am I doing all that I can to reach the lost for Christ and to encourage others in their Christian faith. Since life is passing so quickly, we really shouldn’t waste any of it! Every hour we walk this earth is a gift from God. Let’s be intentional, focused and engaged so that God can use us to impact as many lives as possible.
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:14-15 NASB
Secondly, every season in life is like the morning fog, it’s here just a little while, then it’s gone.. If you’re in the middle of a difficult season, know this, it will soon pass. You may not be able to see through the fog right now, but in a little while, the fog will lift and you will see clearly! Take comfort in knowing that God‘s vision is not hindered by the fog. He can see the way out, and He will guide you through this season. Trust Him as you wait for the fog to lift.
For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison. 2 Corinthians 4:17 NASB
The final thought God brought to my mind centered on the YouVersion verse of the day:
“For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.” Titus 2:11 NLT
Until we experience the grace of God, we walk through life in a spiritual fog, unable to see the truth. God’s unmerited favor is at the heart of the gospel! We don’t deserve the salvation God offers, yet he paid the price for our sins at great personal cost. God humbled Himself, took on human flesh, and entered our world as a helpless baby, so that he could live a sinless life then bear the penalty of our sins on the cross. God’s grace was revealed in Jesus Christ, bringing salvation to all who believe. If you’ve not yet experienced salvation, ask God to lift the fog and reveal His grace to you! No one should walk through life in a fog.
