Be True To Your Walk

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8 NIV

How important is our daily walk? I believe the scripture above lays it out. We can physically walk in prayer with the Lord, albeit our walk with him doesn’t end until our head hits the pillow each night.

Our walk is physical, and our walk is spiritual. Both will lead us to the heart of God, and to know him better.  God honors those who walk with him in great ways.

When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. Genesis 5:21-24 NIV

Enoch was spared death as a reward for walking with the Lord. Our entire purpose for living is to serve him who relishes us. While he has no need for us, he loves us. He loves with a love way beyond our level of comprehension. Praise him!

But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Genesis 6:8-9 NIV

Our walk with God started “in the beginning.” We keep very good company as you can see, people our Lord honored, the likes of Noah, whom was the only one spared from the flood – and Enoch, the first to be saved from death.  These are two very great examples of how much the Lord our God will do for us if we walk with him daily.

We can never know the Lord our God enough, and walking with him daily will bring you closer to him, make your desire to understand his true nature, and allow him to make us a new creation daily.

Jesus always sets the great example, as he walked throughout his entire ministry, while with us on earth. It is written;

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12 NLT

Listen for his soft gentle voice when you’re too tired or weary to walk. He will always give you what you need to get up and out with him.

Walk with him daily, in action, spirit, and in truth.
