Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8 NIV
We all remember love, right?
With the times being what they are, the enemy and the world currently imposing its will on many of us and our way of life, it’s easy to shift our focus away from Love. But Love must always be our central theme.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John. 3:16 NIV
It is essential during these times to remember that God is in charge of all and he has promised to always be with us. We might feel like the enemy is currently winning, but he’s not. Simply stated, the war will be won the only One who has never lost a battle – our Lord!
Many of us are being forced to isolate, and to live our lives entirely different than we have for as long as we can remember. As Christians, there are many times we have been forced out of our level of comfort, by our Lord, to work for our good. This current test, is no different. God hasn’t changed and he sees all that is happening. There will be no winners or losers among those who follow him. There will only be reward!
God expects our continued worship, prayer and commitment to his Word. He expects no more from us than he ever has. He simply wants us to follow him, regardless of our circumstances here in this world.
Remember his promises, they are always kept. Below is an incredible promise made to all of us who look to him.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Psalm 91 14:16 NIV
Don’t change your level of commitment to him, and don’t change your commitment to all those he’s put in your life. All of us need love right now. Much like Gods love for us, make the love you have for others consistent through these times.
It is written:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV
The world, and the evil one, will attempt, in every possible way, to uproot our faith in God during these times. Protect yourself with his full armor and others with your love!
Love one another.
