Jesus answered and said to her, “If You knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” John 4:10 NKJV
Are you thirsty? Do you desire, or need, this living water?
The Samaritan woman in the Bible was thirsty. She came to the well for water to quench her thirst, and she met the Man who could forever take her thirst away.
The woman said to Him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?” John 4:11 NKJV
That question gets asked every day. There are people, in our lives, who have not yet tasted this living water. The Well we must lead them to is Christ.
Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:13-14 NKJV
Water from a faucet or water bottle brings temporary relief, but when we lead someone to Jesus, the water he spoke of quenches their thirst eternally. He is the living water they desire. Everyone needs to drink this water!
Is it time to share the gospel with those who have not had a drink from this Well?
Jesus made it clear when he said:
“Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!” John 4:35 NKJV
The wells of this world are drying up! Jesus wants us to lead others to him so he can quench their thirst. It is time to plant the seeds and reap the harvest Jesus spoke of. Those seeds will need living water to grow and become fruitful.
Water is mentioned in the Bible 722 times! I’d say that makes it important!
See below, and know it is!
And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.” Revelation 21:6 NKJV
Let us drink today of these waters.
Let us lead others to the Well.
