Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39 NKJV
We have a great God! So what else do we need? He is the Answer above all answers, and the Lord of all things. So why do we seek our happiness, joy, contentment, and hope from this world?
Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. I Timothy 6:6-7 NKJV
When we put our faith in people, places, and things, invariably, we are disappointed. There is nothing of this world that can fill our hearts the way that Jesus can!
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV
The Lord surrounds us with people who can help us fulfill his purpose and plan for us. Our closeness to these people can lead to us rely on them to add to our fulfillment. That never works and results in riding ebbs and flows in life.
No one can satisfy or love us as HE does, and he never falls short of our expectations!
We must continue to serve, and be realistic in our expectations of everyone and everything within this world. Anything short of that can take our focus off of Christ.
Remember it is written:
This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord Almighty is his name: “Only if these decrees vanish from my sight,” declares the Lord, “will Israel ever cease being a nation before me.” This is what the Lord says: “Only if the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below be searched out will I reject all the descendants of Israel because of all they have done,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 31:35-37 NIV
His love endures forever.
Love one another.
