“Your slave is in your hands,” Abram said. “Do with her whatever you think best.” Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her. The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. Genesis 16:6-8 NIV
Hagar is confronted with a question for which she has no answer. Have you ever been in that position?
The psalmist has.
Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Psalms 143:7-8 NIV
What else does the psalmist say?
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalms 32:8 NIV
God has a purpose and plan for each and every one of us. When we feel like we need direction, we simply need to look to him.
He says;
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3 NIV
We often wander, as if we’re are lost without any hope of direction. The direction in which we must always head is towards our Lord, knowing that he is always watching over us and remembering to call upon him.
It is written:
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: And he delighteth in his way. Psalm 37:23 KJV
All paths we are to travel lead us back to HIM! As we try to figure out where we are going, we need to remember this exchange:
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:5-6 NKJV
When we are looking for a way, let’s remember The Way.
Love one another.
