Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’ ” Exodus 3:13-14 NIV
Our God is often referred to as the Great I am. While we can never be God, when we abide in Jesus, we can be like Him and the world can see Him in us. Praise God!
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 NIV
As disciples of Christ, we all become the light of the world. We are His church, His bride, and as members of one body we are the light. Praise God! We are nothing without Him, and with Him we are everything. When we live in Jesus, we share every attribute of His. For it is written:
“This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 3:6 NIV
We have it all in Christ Jesus. Because He is, we are! Praise God!
It is written:
“Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” John 8:58 NIV
Just as He is, I am. Think about how overwhelmingly powerful that statement is! Spoken to Moses directly from the lips of God, and from our Lord to all of us. Praise our Lord and God! As followers of the Way, we have it all. We are protected by the father, driven by the Spirit, and lead by Christ. We see God, in all of His glorious forms, our most perfect Heavenly Father.
Jesus has equipped us with everything we need to imitate Him. While we cannot be Him, we can abide in Him. If this weren’t enough, He left us with this prayer:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:20-23 NIV
I submit to you all, brothers and sisters, this prayer is from our Lord and God, Jesus. He prays to God for us, and we know His prayers will be answered.
We have complete unity with Him, when we are in Him. Why does he protect us and love us this much? Here is what he desires, from His own mouth:
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” John 17:24 NIV
As His body, He always wants us to be with Him. Praise our Lord and God!
Love one another always!
