Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 NIV
All for the glory of our Lord, everything we do, as we are here to serve HIM. We need to do all things in HIM and for HIM, out of love, HIS love for us and our love for HIM. We need no better reason.
It is written:
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 NIV
Paul reminds us through this writing, and many others, why we are here. We are here to serve Him; there is simply no other reason.
Jesus says:
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.” Luke 6:46-48 NIV
It makes sense to follow our Lord’s teachings. For as our creator, God knows what’s best for us. Much like an inventor who knows best how to administer his invention, the Lord always knows what is best for His creations.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 NIV
God created us in His image. We are to follow Him, and fellowship with Him.
For Jesus says:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:5-8 NIV
In all things remain in HIM and do all things for HIM.
