Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:15-17 NIV
There are so many things the world offers us that, if we aren’t careful, can become distractions and take our focus off of God. After all, we know who rules this world – for now.
As we look to God, and He blesses us with jobs, hobbies, people, and other things meant to enhance our lives, we must remember not to lose our focus on Him. Very often something new in our lives, if not managed carefully, can distract us from the purpose and plan God has for us. We must not allow these blessings, to pull us away from the path God has made for us.
It is written:
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3 NIV
God knows what we need. He created us in His image. He blesses us with more than we can ask or imagine. To keep these blessings from becoming stumbling blocks we must stay in prayer, the written word, fellowship, and constant communion with God.
It is written:
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV
It’s a wonderful thing to reach forward and press toward all that God has for us!
Jesus says:
“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:9-10 NKJV
He wants more for us, let us remain in HIM!
Remember to love one another always.
