Looking For Solid Ground? Go Back To The Basics.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

If you ever feel like you are in a spiritual rut, it’s good to be reminded of the basics.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

To get back on track we don’t need to be theologians, or memorize Greek and Latin. We simply need to be reminded of our foundation. The Bible is full of verses that declare what God has done for us, and how much He cares for us!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Be reminded of and rejoice in the simplicity of your salvation.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

And always remember that Jesus chooses you!

“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. John‬ ‭17‬:‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Go back to the basics, the simple truths presented in God’s word to find solid ground whenever feeling a bit disheveled, or in a rut. You don’t need to be a professor or theologian to continue to grow in your faith.

Love and be kind to one another.
