But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. Isaiah 64:8 NKJV
In God we have the perfect father . He knows all, his timing and plans are perfect he loves us unconditionally, and he is always with us. While we have earthly fathers, and they are so important, in God we have the perfect Father
Christ reminds us when he says:
“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” John 10:17-18 NKJV
What an incredible example to all who love Him! He will never leave us or forsake us! He showers us with gifts constantly! We have the privilege of enjoying His promises, His Word, His grace, and His mercy!
We can trust Him! As we get to know His true character, we we begin to understand His great love for us!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17 NKJV
We are reminded:
Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. Exodus 20:12 NIV
Our goal should be to honor and glorify our Heavenly Father first, before we seek out any earthly comfort. It is this glorification of our Father in heaven that helps us build up his body!
Paul writes:
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— Ephesians 6:1-2 NIV
Jesus always looked to glorify his Heavenly Father above all else, as evidenced in this prayer.
After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.” John 17:1-5 NIV
Let us follow the example set by Jesus and glorify our perfect Heavenly Father. He is our hope! His love for us is perfect and never ending.
Seek Him , find Him, and love Him !
