God Is Kind

Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord. Jeremiah‬ ‭9‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NKJV

God exercises lovingkindness and we are encouraged to boast of HIS kindness. Thus it is written! As we mature in our walk with God, it is important that we understand HIS true nature. It is important we set to know HIS true character.

It is written:

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God is kind and he is merciful, and HE expects us to acknowledge this in our worship. He allows us to boast of our understanding of his kindness, among his infinite number of good qualities. Can you take some time today to worship God and thank him for his kindness?

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Just as God’s kindness has been a blessing in our lives, we should extend kindness to those around us. God aaved us when we were dead in our sins. We didn’t have any way to earn his mercy and certainly don’t deserve his kindness. Likewise, we reflect Gods glory most when we express kindness to those who haven’t done anything to deserve it.

Kindness is just one of God’s many mercies bestowed upon us. It is one of the fruits of the spirit mentioned in the book of Galatians (5:22-23). Anything we see in God, we should try to emulate, as that too is a way of giving glory to God.

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Who do you know that could use a little kindness today?

To Him be all the Glory, forever and ever, Amen.

Love one another.
