”No” May Be The Best Answer

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NASB

This is a very popular, well quoted verse for obvious reasons. Let’s face it, who doesn’t like the idea of everything working together for good? But when I think about the enormity of this promise, and I consider the ramifications of God fulfilling this obligation in my life, I begin to understand why He so often says, “No.”

We pour our hearts out to God and ask Him to step in and make so many things happen for us, but we really don’t have enough understanding to know how our lives will turn out if God grants our requests. But God knows!

He sees the end result of every answered prayer. He knows exactly how our requests will play out if He says, “Yes,” and in faithfulness, He only grants us those things that will work together for good.

Would you want it any other way?

Nir would I. So why is it that we have such difficulty letting God decide what’s best? Sometimes God says yes, sometimes He says no and sometimes He says not now, but His answer is always in our best interest.

God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

So if you’ve been praying about something for a long time and it seems like God’s not listening, remember this: God hears you, and He loves you. Trust Him. He is very good at being God.

  1. Sometimes it seems that the lesson most often taught and least often learned is patience. We live in a “limited time” environment; but God exists without time (outside of). His “point of view” sees the end from the beginning, while ours sees only the moment.
Oh how we need to be patient and wait for the moments to pass until He acts within our timeframe.
