Your Suffering Has Not Escaped God’s Notice

Then the Lord told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land. It is a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live. Exodus 3:7-8 NLT

“I have heard their cries of distress….I am aware of their suffering….So I have come down to rescue them.”

You can be completely confident that God is always aware of your suffering. He hears your cries of distress, and He is moved by your tears. That’s the kind of God we serve! Though He allows the pressures of life to make us spiritually strong, He never allows us to suffer longer than necessary to complete the work He is accomplishing in us. We only suffer when it is in our best interest!

Now go and call together all the elders of Israel. Tell them, ‘Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—has appeared to me. He told me, “I have been watching closely, and I see how the Egyptians are treating you. I have promised to rescue you from your oppression in Egypt. I will lead you to a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live.” Exodus‬ 3:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬

“I have been watching closely.”

God is watching closely. He sees everything you are going through. Not one detail escapes His notice. Not one.

“I have promised to rescue you….I will lead you.”

Rest in this thought: When you are suffering, God takes it personally. He’s committed to lead you out of every difficult circumstance. He will come to your rescue and give you the insight and guidance needed to navigate safely through every trial.

God’s promise to rescue His children was not limited to this conversation with Moses.

“Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.” Psalm 50:15 NLT

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: “You can be sure that I will rescue my people from the east and from the west.” Zechariah 8:7 NLT

“But I will rescue you from those you fear so much.” Jeremiah 39:17 NLT

So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. 2 Peter 2:9 NLT

Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen. 2 Timothy 4:18 NLT
