Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you. 1 Peter 5:6 ESV
If you desire to please God and be an effective servant for His glory, stay humble before Him, and wait patiently for God to intervene in your circumstances. And while you wait….
Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 NIV
Worry about nothing, instead, trust God in all circumstances, acknowledging, by your long-suffering, an understanding of His love for you…a love so incredible, it beckons you to trust him completely.
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 ESV
Be on your guard, knowing that you are a target of the enemy. Your adversary wants to destroy you!
Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 1 Peter 5:9 ESV
Resist the devil by standing firm in your faith, and understand that you are not alone in the battle!
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1 Peter 5:10 ESV
When the time is right, Christ himself will restore you! He will confirm you! He will strengthen you! He will establish you!
To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:11 ESV
