Encourage, Plant & Serve

“Whether you turn to the right, or turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying this is The Way walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21 NIV

How are we to walk?  Do we know why we are here?

We can honor the Lord, our God, everyday by remembering these three things:

  • Encourage  – others always
  • Plant –  the seed of the Word whenever possible
  • Serve –  Him by, serving others

It is written:

“An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.” Proverbs 12:25 NIV

It should be our daily goal to be to an encouragement to all we meet.

Jesus says;

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.” Luke 10:2-3 NIV

We are required to share our hope in Christ Jesus, and we do disservice to those we come across when we do not share this hope!

How does Jesus feel about Serving?

A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’” “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said. When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy. Luke 18::18-23 NIV

Serving Jesus is the reason we are here. The rich ruler was happy to serve by doing only what HE wanted to do to serve. Our Lord asked him to step out in faith, and give more.  That, my brother, is servitude, in HIS own words. It requires doing more of what he wants and desires, and less of what we want and desire.

Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. John 12:23-26 NIV

Let’s us all remember to encourage, plant, and serve today!

E.P.S –  It really is this simple…..

One Comment:

  1. As usual, the Good Word is provided for our minds and hearts.
The path is not easy as the human soul wants to serve itself. The spirit of man must be given over to the Spirit of God and must rule over the mind or soul of man.
We are not to be slaves to God, but sons/daughters who are privileged to share in the Father’s plans.
