We Can Boast In Him

“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,  but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 9:23-24 NIV

The Lord allows us to be boastful when it comes to our relationship with him.  He wants to be the center of you lives, the apple of our eye, and the reason that we live. He wants us to be confident, in him. This is why there is no greater quality that attracts one human to another than confidence. As it is a quality that shows HIM in us.

He also states:

This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the Lord. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Jeremiah 31:33-34 NIV

God wants us to know him, and to know his son, our Lord Christ Jesus. Here he speaks of Jesus and tells us he wants us to be his people – all of us from the least to the greatest.

Let’s look at what else he wants, and what it leads to.

“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 29:12-14 NIV

It is also written :

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  John 8:12 NIV

God wants us to know him, boast about our relationship with him, seek him, find him, and then follow him!

Why?

Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, prays to the father and asks:

“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” John 17:24 NIV

God wants us to be with him, always!

Love the Lord, seek the Lord, and find him- daily.
