The enemy had successfully destroyed the city of Jerusalem. They marched in and took the people captive, set the place on fire and broke down the walls that protected them from future attack. Years had passed and now the city was a mess. Sometimes this scenario mirrors our own lives. We too have an enemy.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 NIV
Has the enemy marched in and taken you captive? Is your life or your faith a mess? Do your walls of defense lie in ruins?

But if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name. Nehemiah 1:9 NIV
No matter how far the enemy has carried you away, even to the farthest horizon, God wants to bring you back! If you turn your attention to Him and submit to Him in obedience, He will rescue you from wherever the enemy has taken you! He has chosen a far better place for you, a place where His name dwells.

He will restore you. He will have compassion on you. He will bring you back! You do not have to live with everything in ruins.

We all struggle and we all have times when we are so far gone, we just feel lost. We start to believe we’ve taken one wrong turn too many and will never find our way back. When Satan is in the driver’s seat, it’s easy to lose your way! If that’s you today, don’t give up! Call out to God and He will show you the way.
