Love Is A Two Way Path

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.  2 Timothy 1:6-7 NIV

God has placed an amazing gift within us, but we can find ourselves at a lost as to what to do with this gift. We are in a spiritual battle every day. The spirit God has given us prepares us for this battle!

With so much evil happening around us in the world today, where do we begin? How do we reach a lost world and point them to Christ? We might start by acknowledging, when we speak with others, how much and why we love God.

What if our family, our business partners and our friends knew that God loves us in ways we are not always capable of comprehending? His agape love is something we do NOT receive from each other, for no one in this world is capable of providing us with this love. Once we experience God’s love, it’s easy to love him in return!

Why not express to others, your love for Him, and your love for his Son, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

Paul continues in this writing:

So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. 2 Timothy 1:8 NIV

God loves hearing us boast about our love for him, about knowing him, and how much faith we have in him! He knows our hearts, and showers us with such immense passion. Let’s glorify him daily!

This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.  Jeremiah 9:23-24 NIV

God longs to hear the boldness of our voices declaring our love for him!  He expects during these troubles times, for us to cry out to him loud enough for others to know He is God. He expects it, and he deserves it. He will be praised.

How does he see us?

When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” Judges 6:12 NIV

Could it be he sees us as mighty warriors?

Let those who chose to live in darkness, hear our cries, then maybe they can start to understand how we live with Hope. That Hope has a name- Jesus!

Let him be praised today.
