For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 NIV
Is this the Bible’s main message, that God loves us? Yes! We could even go so far as to say that the Bible is the world’s greatest love letter.
After all, it is written:
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8 NIV
We know God is love, and we know the Bible is his written word, so it’s really not that much of a leap is it?
Consider this; God has been demonstrating his love for us from the beginning. He sent Christ, our Lord, when we sinned in the garden. Instead of punishment, his first words were:
So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” Genesis 3:14-15 NIV
Mankind sinned. We disobeyed God. And how did God respond? He essentially said, “Don’t worry, I am coming!” He promised Jesus would come, out of love for us. God has gone to great lengths to show us his love! While Bible is God’s written love letter to the world, Jesus is his living love letter!
While the Bible has many authors, it is most assuredly God who inspired it.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV
How much more proof could we possibly need of God’s love for us, than both his written and living Word? This love letter is a gift worth sharing with all. God’s love for us is undeniable. His commitment to us is the greatest blessing we could ever have been given.
We should breathe easy knowing that Gods commitment is so firm, he will always be with us, and never forsake us. All we must do is embrace his love and love him back!
God said through Jeremiah:
This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord Almighty is his name: “Only if these decrees vanish from my sight,” declares the Lord, “will Israel ever cease being a nation before me.” This is what the Lord says: “Only if the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below be searched out will I reject all the descendants of Israel because of all they have done,” declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 31:33, 35-37 NIV
Paul further writes:
This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 3:6 NIV
God extends the promise of love he made to the nation of Israel to us all!
His love for us is eternal!
God is love, love one another.
Share his love letter daily.
