Confidence In Our Lord

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: Hebrews‬ ‭10:35-36‬ ‭NKJV

‬‬Confidence, as defined by Oxford is, “the feeling or belief that someone can rely on something or someone; firm trust” as well as. “the state of feeling certain about the TRUTH of something.”

Believers can proceed in full confidence because we have found the truth. The Word of God is truth!

Many believe confidence is the most attractive quality in any human being. Confidence in God,  and our relationship with him, garners healthy attention from others and may serve as a way to point them to the truth we have found.

It is written:

In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. Ephesians‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Could this be how others see Christ in us? Through our faith and confidence in Him, we can encourage others to seek God.

The author of the book of Hebrews gives us incredible insight as to how confidence is an important part of our faith.

He writes:

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The prophet Jeremiah writes:

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Isaiah writes:

The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah‬ ‭32:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Confidence in God can become the seed we plant that leads others to Christ.

In closing, it is written:

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Remember to Encourage, Plant, & Serve daily!
