Await The Pearl

Wait on the Lord, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it. Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We all have situations in our lives that cause grief, pain, sorrow, and strife. It is how we look at these situations and work through them that determines the outcome.

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭25‬-‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

While we don’t enjoy trials, often they can build valuable qualities within us.

Consider for a moment a grain of sand trapped in an oyster shell. In an attempt to protect itself from harm, the oyster produces a substance called nacre to cover the irritant.Over time, the nacre turns into a beautiful and valuable pearl .

Likewise, we do our best to shield ourselves from painful trials, hoping they will pass quickly. Often, we can’t see how any good can come from the pain.  But if we look to God, seek Him through the pain and endure patiently, God can produce something beautiful and valuable in us.

He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭29‬-‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Just like the secretion from the oyster forms a pearl, a beautiful jewel, which is valued by many, our trials do the same for us when we seek HIM, look upon HIM, and wait on HIM.  Just like a grain of sand, the thing that irritates us and causes the most pain can become a wonderful gift to us from our Lord who works all things for our good.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Be kind to one another, and always quick to forgive.

Love one another!

  1. Beautifully written and oh so true. Hard to fathom in the midst of a trial that good will come, but HE is Faithful, even in our wondering and questioning. I often say, people give up before the miracle, the peace that surpasses understanding shall come, wait on the Lord.
