The Benefits Of An Anchor

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19-20 NIV

Oh to be anchored in our Lord Christ Jesus!

Anchors keep a ship safe when storms arise and the seas get rough so it’s important to have a strong, reliable anchor!  We are the vessels that Christ loves, and has died for. All our success in this world is dependent upon our ability to remain anchored in HIM!

“I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Psalms 91:2 NKJV

As we remain anchored in Christ, we can brave the storms of life and are safe from our own tendencies to wander and drift toward sin.  Who is more solid and dependable than our Lord?

What a great God we have! He sent us an advocate in Christ Jesus who simply will not stop at anything to save us!

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2 NIV

God’s word is truth! Staying anchored in his word keeps us safe from the temptations of this world, the enemy’s fiery darts, and the attacks on our flesh.

Mark shares an account that wonderfully demonstrates how Jesus anchors when we are falling apart.

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” Mark 4:35-41.

Check out this encouragement from Jesus:

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 NIV

He is our anchor! Remain anchored in Him and He will never leave you!

Love one another always!

  3. My soul is anchor in Christ all because of His Grace and his goodness. Have it not been for Him I would have been drowned in the sea of life . Thank You Lord 🙏
