Just David Again

What do you do when life breaks in half?

When the person you planned to grow old with is suddenly gone?

When the world moves on, but your heart feels stuck in yesterday?

These are the questions David Pollitt explores in his new book Just David Again, now available on Amazon. If you enjoy reading the devotionals we post by Barnabas, pick up a copy of his new book and help him out by writing a review.

Why does David use the pen name Barnabas when writing for GriptheSword? This site is a place where you can read a verse or passage from the Bible and consider its relevance to your life. Unlike his new book, it is not a personal narrative; therefore, guest writers are encouraged to use a pen name. David chose Barnabas because he is inspired by the Biblical “son of encouragement,” and hopes the scriptures he shares on this site will be an encouragement to others.

What’s the book about?

In Just David Again, David Pollitt shares the raw, honest, and deeply personal journey of losing his wife of 30 years, Michelle — and the unexpected path God led him on to rebuild his life from the ground up.

With unfiltered vulnerability and unwavering faith, David walks readers through the moments of heartbreak, loneliness, and confusion and the quiet, powerful ways God showed up to carry him forward.

This memoir is not just about loss — it’s about hope returning.
It’s about learning to breathe again, to trust again, to live again.
It’s about discovering that peace is not found in the absence of trouble,
but in the presence of God.

Whether you are grieving, supporting someone who is grieving, or simply longing to see God’s hand in the storms of life, Just David Again offers comfort, truth, and the reminder that no one walks their valley alone.

A moving story of faith, healing, and the God who restores what was broken.

  1. Just wanted to share a great read about Love, Loss, Honor, and God’s Faithfulness, Love and Strength in the Valley and beyond. The author is someone I know personally who is such an amazing testimony of God’s love, faithfulness, and a heart to encourage others to seek first His Kingdom, and always remember you are never “alone.” This book is available on Amazon and a very easy read and simple for someone who may be in the Valley or just needs a reminder of His Presence and Faithfulness. Personally blessed my heart. ❤️
