Lost Your Way?

But if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name. Nehemiah 1:9 NIV

No matter how far the enemy has carried you away, even to the farthest horizon, God wants to bring you back! If you turn your attention to Him and submit to Him in obedience, He will rescue you from wherever the enemy has taken you! He has chosen a far better place for you, a place where His name dwells.

Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back. Deuteronomy 30:4 NLT

He will restore you. He will have compassion on you. He will bring you back!

The Lord your God will change your heart and the hearts of all your descendants, so that you will love him with all your heart and soul and so you may live! Deuteronomy 30:6 NLT

We all struggle and we all have times when we are so far gone, we just feel lost. We start to believe we’ve taken one wrong turn too many and will never find our way back. When Satan is in the driver’s seat, it’s easy to lose your way! If that’s you today, don’t give up! Call out to God and He will show you the way. He will bring you back from the farthest horizon!

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21 NIV

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16 NIV

Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. Deuteronomy 30:11-14 NIV

I’ve heard it said that sin always takes us farther than we want to go, keeps us longer than we want to stay, and costs us more than we want to pay. But hope is never lost! We serve a God who says, “Even if the enemy has taken you to the farthest horizon, I will bring you back!”

  1. Right on target. Too many feel that the sin which has separated them from God is their responsibility to correct before they can get back to God. The lesson of the prodigal is quickly forgotten.
