“This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:2-3 NIV
God, the creator of the world and everything in, makes this offer to each one of us, “Call to me and I will answer.” Take a few minutes to wrap your mind around that thought. We have access to the ear of God! When we call out to our heavenly Father, he hears us, every time. And he promises to answer us! God is offering you and I two way communication.
The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. Psalm 25:14 NIV
Not only will He answer but He promises to confide in us and give us insight and knowledge into things we have no other way of knowing. Don’t ever believe the lie that God is unapproachable. He invites you to call on Him, and waits patiently to interact with you. Will you take Him up on His offer?
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:12-13 NIV
Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Isaiah 55:6 NIV
God doesn’t just invite us to pray, He encourages us to do so!
Jesus put it this way:
“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” John 16:24 NIV
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 NIV
All relationships are built on communication. Our relationship with God is no different. God wants you to spend time pouring your heart out to Him. And He, in return, will pour His heart out you! That’s what prayer is all about! Do you want Him to confide in you, to tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know?
