Trust In Truth

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis‬ ‭3:4-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

From the very beginning, mankind has wanted the ability to discern good from evil and to understand truth. And for just as long, Satan has been perverting truth, in an effort to lead us astray: But the truth we seek is found in the word of God. For Christ is the ultimate truth; there is no truth greater than He.

It is written:

We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. 1 John‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

With so much going on in the world, we must be able to seek and recognize truth!

“You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” John 18:37 NIV

We do not want to find ourselves asking…

““What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.” John 18:38 NIV

The enemy is a liar. He perverts the truth, and he is good at what he does. He makes things seem true,  though they are not. He is the ultimate deceiver and divider. Jesus called him the father of lies.

“Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” ‭‭John‬ ‭8:43-44‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It can be difficult to discern truth, but as we study and learn the word of God we find it, because there we find Jesus. Simply stated, Jesus is truth. As we draw near to Him, our blinders are removed and we can see clearly.

“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭NIV‬‬

To trust in Christ, is trust in truth.

Love one another.
