Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” Exodus 33:18-20
God and Moses had a very special relationship. Exodus 33:11 tells us that Moses would go into the tent he pitched outside the camp and “The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.” God was very pleased with Moses!
And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” Exodus 33:17 NIV
When Moses asked, God was quick to allow Moses the joy of seeing His glory. After this encounter, Moses was blessed with a glow that would allow all who saw him to know it could only have come from the Lord!
From this early account in the Bible we start to understand that the Glory or Glorification of God becomes a main theme or purpose in our daily walk with HIM! We are called to know God, to experience His glory, then to show His glory to others.
Later in the Bible Paul wrote:
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. I Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV
Glorifying God with the way we live our Christian walk is a must. For one day, we will see Jesus face to face in all His glory! That is the ultimate goal.
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” John 17:24 NIV
Christ desires us to be with HIM!
Love one another!
